Battery Tea Light
I spilt tea on my apple mac notebook! What now?
Basically two days ago i accidently spilt half a mug of sugary tea onto my mac. I switched it off immediatly and removed the battery. Leaving it to air for 30 hours i tried switching it on and nothing happened.
I thought there was nothing to lose so i plugged in the charger. The green light came on but didn’t turn orange. Now it switches on and nothing seems to be wrong. However:
1) the battery icon is just a ‘X’ and when the charger is unplugged it switches off.
2) every now and then it switches itself off
are these problems that will iron out as the computer continues to dry out or am i screwed?!
ps. im writing this currently on the same mac!
The sugar could cause corrosion eventually. The tannin in the tea is also acidic, more potential for corrosion. If there is a way to rinse the keyboard with fresh water, you might gain some more time with your Mac.
Back up your important stuff immediately, I think you’re on borrowed time.
